This is my second Ella Fields ARC... but before anything else, let's take a couple of seconds to admire the gorgeous cover... (sigh...) okay, now on to the review...
Jeezus, I'm sorry but what was that?? I'm pulling my hair like a deranged monkey. I have so much to say but I can't—because, spoilers. Duh?!
Oh man... I felt like I just came off the fastest rollercoaster in the world... You know in those kiddie cartoons where a character gets off a crazy ride and their eyes were still spinning? That's me right now.
I love the book, no question about that... It was sad, it was frustrating, it was sweet... it was gripping... it hooked me from beginning to end. It's definitely a page turner... I'm only human so I had to get some sleep at some point but I devoured it as fast as I can.
I think I can still like the story even though I disagree with the outcome, right?? Because to be honest, I didn't expect it at all. I don't know how to explain things without giving anything away but let me tell you this, I wish she chose differently... The emotional abuse or emotional trauma she went through was too much—at least for me it was. I wish she chose differently... but thats just me rooting for the underdog.
This book will teach you about taking risks, taking responsibility for your actions... that you're only one decision away from a totally different life... that it's okay to make mistakes as long as you don't keep on repeating the same ones... that you have to always choose yourself first before you can help others... so many life lessons to learn in this book... so many.
If you're looking for a light and sweet sexy love triangle, this is not it. It's far from it. It's very angsty... and like I said earlier, it's like taking a spin on a rollercoaster.
If you're a fan of Kandi Steiner, A.L. Jackson and Devney Perry then this is the book to pick up next.
