FIX HER UP by Author CAREY HEYWOOD (The Fix Series 1)

SYNOPSIS:

If Finley Reeves is an expert at anything, it’s making mistakes. She proved this true by falling for and marrying the wrong man. Ten years later all she has to show for it is a divorce and a broken heart.
Needing not only to get away, but also to start over somewhere new, she buys a fixer upper that’s one step away from being condemned. Deciding to tackle this project alone might be her biggest mistake of all.
That is, until Noah Thompson shows up at her front door like a knight in a shining tool belt. Determined she doesn’t need any help she pushes him away until he makes her an offer she’d be crazy to refuse.

My Thoughts After Reading

This is my third time to receive an ARC from the Author, and I'm very grateful for the opportunity.

This book is good for the heart... It's light, it's inspiring & it leaves you hopeful... This is exactly what every woman, who's heart took a beating, should read...

Finley, the female protagonist, is a very relatable character... I admire her determination to bounce back. It's never easy to leave a long-term relationship and in this case, a decade-long marriage. Moving on is tough especially when you doubt your own capabilities. I know a lot of women can relate to her. I certainly can. Being emotionally abused can leave you feeling inferior, inhibited and lost... and the heroine in this book clearly shows us that although picking up the pieces isn't easy, it's very much possible... There is no timetable to healing. As long as you're moving forward, even if its just an inch—forward is still forward. Her resilience is very admirable.

And Noah... well... one can only imagine having someone like him in your life... Apart from being easy on the eyes, he's determined, kind and caring, and most of all he respects Finley. He understands her apprehension and worries, and in this day and age, his brand of patience is commendable because most people want fast and easy or else they give up on you... But he didn't mind putting all the work because he recognizes her worth from the outset. Swoon!

The characters were great.  The story is not too sexy, not too cheesy and not annoyingly angsty—just the right mix... I guess my only complain is that the ex should've at least gave more resistance and gave Noah and Finley a wee bit of headache...Its nothing major really but I would've wanted a little bit more drama is all. lol

I love the story! If you're a fan of second-chance love stories or unexpected romances, then this is the book to get your hands on! Noah and Finley will leave you with a goofy grin... Aside from it being so relatable, the pacing was great... there's a steady build-up of anticipation—a steady climb of excitement and anxiety... Love definitely moves in mysterious ways!

Two thumbs up for Carey on this one!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
