GOODBYE GIRL by SCARLETT METAL

Synopsis:

Rachel met Clint in a diner one night while she was on the road trying to escape her past. From the moment they lay their eyes on each other, sparks fly. He offers her a job on his ranch and even though she's a city girl, she accepts.

It's not long before they give into their attraction and settle into life together on the ranch. They find happiness in each other's arms and Clint quickly wonders if Rachel is the girl that can give him his happily ever after.

Rachel's past eventually comes back to haunt her, and threatens her happiness with Clint. Can they work through their demons of the past and find their happily ever after? Or will Rachel leave Clint just like she fled her life before?

MY THOUGHTS AFTER READING...

Goodbye Girl tells us about the love story of Clint and Rachel.

Rachel ran away from an abusive relationship... She drove all the way from Buffalo, New York to the quaint little town of Sheridan, Wyoming.

She had been driving cross-country straight for a couple days now, and eventually her body caved-in and thus needed to rest. She checks herself into a small hotel then went to the attached diner to nourish herself... There she saw Clint---the tall, dark and ridiculously handsome cowboy.

She finds herself drawn and cant seem to take her eyes off him. And of course, Clint notices her and came to speak to her before heading home. They talked for a bit and he even offered her a job at his ranch.

Rachel doesn't have any real plans... Just as long as her abusive ex-boyfriend doesn't find her then she's fine. Setting aside her apprehensions, she went to the ranch the following day to take on Clint's job offer.

And thats where it all started...

Rachel is this broken girl with tons of baggage and Clint is this responsible, caring and loving guy. They didn't waste any time---at all. They kept it real and acted on their feelings..

Neither of them expected to fall in love since both of them already got burned in the past. But like I always say, the heart is incredibly resilient... And when you feel that kind of connection and passion with someone, one can only be strong enough to resist it.... What they felt was more than just physical attraction. It was like their soul knew this other person is their missing half...

And just when you think everything is perfect...someone from Rachel's past suddenly appears and rips the mat from under them...

Goodbye Girl is a story about second-chances, finding oneself, taking risks and most importantly, a story that shows us that family takes care of their own.

I've always been a fan of Scarlett's... I Remember You is the first novella of hers that I've read. Unlike others, her stories are void of unnecessary scenes just to make 'em longer. It's always to the point and doesn't leave the readers confused.

I can't wait for Wyatt's story. He seems like a very interesting and fun character.

I hope to read more of Clint and Rachel in the upcoming books...
