SYNOPSIS:

All I can say is...I want more of Logan and Clare!
Oh. My. God. My heart hasn't been wrenched so much eversince Falling Into You by Jasinda Wilder! Like totally woke-up with über puffy eyes!! I mean, sure I always cry when I read about heartbreaking scenes in a book, but this...this one, made me empathize so much with Clare. Like I was really there, watching everything unfold before my eyes.
So the love story between Logan and Clare started when Maddie, Clare's daughter was rushed to the hospital for a stomach bug, and Dr. Logan Matthews was the doctor assigned in the E.R.
Long story short, fate stepped-in, they meet again and things developed from there. Both Logan and Clare had some emotional baggage to carry. Logan, has this notion that he is unlovable, and therefore, is also incapable of truly loving another person. And Clare, kinda became an emotional recluse due to the fact that her life took a 180...having to go through the whole process of taking care of a very sick husband, then becoming a widow at such a very young age and raising a toddler all by herself. It sure wasn't easy. If it happened to me, I'd probably just gave up on living. The pressure was definitely too much to bear.
The book was entitled "When You're Ready" because it was what Ethan, Clare's deceased husband, wrote on the envelope of the letter he wrote for her before he passed away. Speaking of which, reading Ethan's letter was just so heartbreaking and I ugly-cried through it. Plus, learning about Logan's situation, just broke me. I thought for sure Clare would lose her mind. But she remained strong through it all. And I admire her for it...
The most important thing conveyed in this story is that the heart is incredibly resilient...that its possible to have more than one true love... This is truly an inspiring story. Like I said, I would've wanted to read more about Logan and Clare starting a family...
To the fans of Present Perfect by Alison Bailey, Second-Rate Chances by Holly Stephens and Take This Regret by A.L. Jackson, this is a book you would definitely want to read. I strongly recommend it. I am surely gonna read it again myself! Just prepare the Kleenex beforehand!😉
