BLOCK SHOT by Author KENNEDY RYAN

JARED

If I had a dollar for every time Banner Morales made my heart skip a beat...

The heart everyone assumes is frozen over.

Her anger is...arousing.

Every glare from those fire-spitting eyes, every time she grits her teeth,

gets me...well, you know.

If I had a dollar for every time she's put me in my place, I'd be an even richer man.

I'm a successful sports agent because I assume "no" means you'll think about it.

I'm sure what you meant to say is "Coming right up.”

They say even rich men don't always get what they want,

but those men don't know how to play the game. The trick is to keep them guessing.

Take Banner. She assumes she's winning, but this game?

She doesn't even know how to play.

BANNER

If I had a dollar for every time Jared Foster broke my heart, I’d have exactly one dollar.

One night. One epic fail. One dollar...and I'm out.

I've moved on.

I’ve found success in a field ruled by men.

Anything they can do, I have done better.

They can keep the field while I call the shots, blocking them when I have to.

And Jared has the nerve to think he gets a second chance?

Boy, please. Go sit down. Have several seats.

I'll just be over here ignoring the man carved from my fantasies with a lust-tipped chisel.

Oh, I didn't say the struggle wasn't real.

But I've got that one dollar, and Jared won't have me.

MY THOUGHTS AFTER READING...

Wow! Just freaking wow! It's such a great privilege to receive an ARC from Kennedy!

Is it okay to say that I love this book better than the last one? No offense... lol

So you've read the blurb. It's about Jared and Banner... former close friends turned nemesis after one fateful night.

I think we all know how this ends... but the journey of getting to that happy ending was full of ups and lows, and twists and turns. It's not as angsty and heavy-drama as the first book— Long Shot but it has it's own brand of emotional evocation.

You can't help but fall in love with the characters right from the get-go... on how they developed and grew as you turn page after page... how they make you feel and relate with their real life everyday struggles.

This book teaches you so many life lessons... and that's what a book should be... The pacing was perfect... It all felt real— the anticipation and the heartbreak... It was all seamless and inspiring.

As I was reading, I kept thinking how lucky someone is if they find that certain someone—that one person who would never, ever give up on them no matter how hard and hopeless things may seem... how (reasonably) stubborn and relentless they are that they would move heaven and earth to be with you, consequences be damned... someone who would crush away your self-doubt and who would love and accept you for who you are... I know those rare people still exist—not only on pages of a book but I've seen it with my parents... I can only hope to find that in this lifetime.

I tremendously enjoyed the book! It was inspiring and swoon-worthy, and not to mention, intense. The butterflies in my tummy were having a party!lol I am so in love with Jared Freaking Foster... (aaaand also Banner...but mostly Jared, lol)

I can't wait for ya'll to read this!
