I read this book overnight. This is the second book I've read from the author.
I've read about Mason and Harper in Break The Ice—Noah and Rory's book.
In the beginning I've always thought Mason was reticent and callous towards Harper. His interactions with her were always brusque, and I guess there's no excuse for bad behavior but I get where he's coming from. Life can be overwhelming and sometimes it becomes that way because we love, we care and worry for people who are important to us.
Harper is the poster child for the phrase "kรฏ|| them with kindness." She's patient, resilient and I admire her candor. There's just so much you can do to please a person. At the end of the day, when it's all been said and done, the only person who can heal you is YOU. Living is hard enough so be kind to yourself.
I must say that I enjoyed this book more than the first one. Their banter alone was rousing, and their dynamic is swoon-worthy.... And let's not forget Scottie—who never fails to put a smile on my face whenever he opens his mouth.
