This is my first Ginger Scott ARC and my first read as well. I know, I know... I must be living under a rock or something.
I know this book was somewhat based on the classic—Great Expectations, and to be honest I haven't read it—yet. Yes, I know. No need for read-shaming or whatever.
The blurb got to me so I signed up and was very surprised that it was totally YA. I thought it was at least R18, lol.
It was gripping from the first page to the last though ... the manipulation, the angst... it was almost like a weird combination of Cruel Intentions and Gossip Girl. The pacing was great. The characters were intriguing...
I kept on thinking to myself—can you imagine if this was written in a more mature setting, like in college? Or the business world? But that's just me... and overall, I did enjoy reading it.
For the fans of Nyrae Dawn, Tijan and Allie Everhart, this is the book to read next.
