I was browsing through Net Galley and chanced upon this book... I read the blurb and got curious... This is my first time to read something from the author and thought I'd hit two birds with one stone—read a light romance and broaden my horizon when it comes to authors I haven't met yet.
This is a story about a PA, CC Morgan falling in love with her boss—Wade Carter. This isn't really a sports romance because Wade was already retired from being a quarterback for the Broncos for about three years now...
You know that saying "You don't know what you got until it's gone"? Well this is that story basically in a nutshell... Wade was so used to having CC around that he hadn't realized she has become a vital part of his life in the last six years she has worked for him... this and more.
It was a slow-burn but I enjoyed the story nonetheless... I would've suggested that Wade should've woke-up a wee bit sooner... like somewhere in the middle, because I felt like CC was alone in her feelings and he was just utterly clueless for the most part of the story—well I guess most men are, lol.
I have a weakness for cowboys who loves their family, and I think the story is sweet, funny and unique... It's definitely a fun and easy read... something you'd wanna read while hanging out in a coffeeshop or at the park... If you're a fan of Lauren Blakely, Winter Renshaw and Rachel Van Dyken, then this is the book to pick up next.
