I've finally finished reading this book and all I can say is... wow. TBH it's not the kind of wow you usually shout after winning first place or the kind where you're excited and happy dancing... this is a more subdued blown-away wow... like... wow, did that just happen? The kind of wow that's full of wonder...
This is my first Colleen Hoover ARC, and I felt really cool and special to be one of the chosen ones... I've been a huge Colleen Hoover fan for years, and I've read Maybe Someday probably four or five times give or take.
With that being said, this one is definitely... obviously... not.the.same...
I'm not a fan of anything dark or stories that are crime-thrillers. I'm more of a sunshine and rainbows kind of girl... But once in a while I indulge myself and delve out of my norm.
I've read stories that are much darker, bordering on sick... and some are more graphic and gruesome, so reading this one didn't really shock me to the core but I was riveted from beginning to end... its like every chapter is a plot twist after another.
The three main characters are Lowen, Jeremy and of course Verity.
Reading this reminded me of The Ghostwriter by Alessandra Torre... There are some similarities but what I love more about this one, is that it has romance in it.
There is so much I want to say or ask out loud but if I discuss anything further I'd be giving away spoilers, and nobody likes that... ahh! I'm screaming from the inside! I just wish the book also had Jeremy's POV... I wanted to know what was going on inside his head through-out everything.
It's captivatingly twisted and even though it's not Ms. Hoover's usual groove, as a reader I liked it.
