MIDNIGHT BLUE by Author LJ SHEN

BLURB

It should have been easy.

I needed the money. He needed a babysitter to keep him from snorting himself to death.

I was cherry-picked especially for him. Responsible. Optimistic. Warm. Innocent.

The worst part is that I should have known better.

Alex Winslow. British rock star. Serial heartbreaker. Casanova with whiskey eyes.

“Don’t get near the devil in a leather jacket. He’ll chew you up and spit you out.”

Sounds familiar? That’s because it was a headline in a tabloid the second time he got arrested.

Guess what? I didn’t listen.

I signed the contract.

World tour. Three months. Four Continents. One hundred shows.

My name is Indigo Bellamy, and I sold my soul to a tattooed god.

Problem was, my soul wasn’t enough for Alex Winslow. He ended up taking my body, too.

Then he took my heart.

Then he took my all.

MY THOUGHTS AFTER READING...

This is my first time to receive an ARC from the LJ SHEN... first time to read something from her really. I know, I know. I'm aware that I must be living under a rock... To be fair, I do have a couple of her books on my TBR shelf... I just haven't started on them yet... and after reading this, I will definitely correct the error of my ways. lol

So I kinda' already figured out from the outset why the book was entitled Midnight Blue— because, hello? Indigo equals blue... simple really... but of course, there's more to the story... its more than a celebrity romance... more than a prickly rockstar falling in love with a regular eccentric girl... I mean, yeah sure obviously its a HEA, but the process... the trials and tribulations...the road Alex and Indie had to travel in order to reach that height, is something else... It wasn't love at first sight or lust... it was the opposite.

I greatly enjoyed reading this book... it was annoying... it was exasperating... it was heart-wrenching... and most of all, it was funny! There were moments were I probably looked like a loon, chuckling by myself...

This is my first 5-star rating of the year, and definitely well-deserved. I've heard great things about the author, and rightfully so. Reading this book was a great start to get to know her.

So for any of ya'll who enjoy reading celebrity romances or are fans of (sorta) enemies to lovers storyline... or just someone who wants to read a great love story, this is the book to pick up next.
