I've been an LJ SHEN fan ever since I was given the pleasure and opportunity of an ARC of THE END ZONE. Practically all of her books are gritty and captivating from the first page to the last. My favorite of them all was THE KISS THIEF—Wolfe Keaton is just something else.... Someone you love to hate and hate to love...
Aaaand most her books are normally like that... that's why I was a wee bit stumped as I was reading this one... I honestly have mixed-feelings... The author definitely indulged herself with this one.
It's like watching reality TV, and then some of the casts will make commentaries or whatever you call it... If you've read this book, you know what I'm talking about... It's a "good" weird, but still weird. I'm probably the only one who thinks this but yes, lol.
Overall I did enjoy Mal and Rory's story... Reading this was like taking a roller coaster ride... and if I won't count the reality tv-ish segments— I think it's a pretty angsty and emotional read that talks about broken relationships, broken hearts and shattered trusts... but it also talks about forgiveness and resilience and it will make you see that love conquers all.
It's definitely something unique from LJ Shen... so unexpected. I've been dying for this book ever since it was announced and it drove me nuts as to what "ITUE" stands for.
I can't wait to read more from Leigh!
