MY THOUGHTS AFTER READING...

I don't know how Rebecca Yarros does it. She's such a brilliant writer! From beginning to end, you'd think it'd would slow somewhere but no. It's gripping from the first chapter to the last.
I haven't read the other books in this series... I'm not sure if all the books are as heartwarming and heart-wrenching as this one but man, depending on your emotional state--this book will definitely draw your tears out because the heart of this series is family. Three brothers who are all coping the death of their mother, and a father left them to fend for themselves because he was too broken himself...
So this book focuses on the second Madigan brother Weston, who joined the army and never looked back until 11 years later when his eldest brother called him and said he needed him.
Love, love, love this book!
BTW... this can be read as a standalone.
