I had been waiting in dire anticipation for this ARC for months—ever since it was announced.
I love to indulge myself to read an age-gap romance from time to time and reading the blurb about Violet Moore being in love with her best-friend's father felt like a sign from the heavens, so signed-up for an ARC.
I was so, so excited to start and when I got to it, somewhere along after a couple of chapters the momentum for my excitement slowed down... I'm sorry.
This is probably just me but honestly I wasn't able to connect or to relate with any of the characters... The story was very promising during the first half, give or take, but I lost my excitement as I went along.
The sex-scenes were another thing though... No one could accuse the author of not knowing how to write sex scenes because they were all scorching hot, like hot as hell kind of hot—it was almost like "watching "p0rń.
Overall, it was an "okay" read... I enjoyed it some... Age-gap, taboo romance is one of my top three favorite tropes and I've read a bunch over the years but this one, I don't know... Maybe this book wasn't just for me.
